Vessel sink vanities are the latest in contemporary bathroom décor. These sinks are fixed on the vanity top instead of in the hollow of the cabinet. This allows for lesser wastage of storage space and easier installation of replacement sinks. They come in all kinds of material, size and shape.
There are a few ’standard’ sizes with ready made vanity units, which are 600mm, 750mm, 900mm, 1200mm and 1500mm. There are vanities that are even smaller than this and these are perfect for a small powder room or guest bathrooms. The Dante vanity range, for example, features a 400mm bathroom vanity which is lovely and compact for a small bathroom area. You can, of course, have it custom made to the size that is well fitted in your bathroom. If you decide to go with this option there are a couple of things to consider:
Wood vanity tops give the most antique looks and have been in great demand in the past few years. The wood used for the wood tops are mahogany, oak, teak etc. In addition to the concrete, ceramic, and wood vanity tops, you will also find tops made out of plastic laminate, stainless steel, and glass.
First, decide if you would like to have a single sink or double sink vanity. A single sink vanity, as the name suggests has one sink, while a double sink vanity has two set side by side and hence the later is larger. It will automatically eliminate quite a lot.
