Some people are satisfied with any vanity bench, but I wanted to find the perfect one for both my bedroom and my bathroom. I realized very quickly that this might take a great deal of searching, but it was well worth the effort in the end. What I found was that wrought iron styles look the best in the bathroom, whether pushed up against a vanity or placed against the wall, and the wooden types look the best in the bedroom or anywhere else in the home. Though there are some exceptions to these rules, they are true for the most part.
There are some that are made of iron so that if you have an iron four poster bed, that’s very popular, you will not have to look far to find a bench made of iron. What’s more is that the iron bench has been enhanced by four feminine tassels that hang from the four curlicued ends of the bench. Very feminine yet as posh as can be!
For upholstered bench tops, look at how the cushion is attached to the bench. A cushion that is loose or looks like it is about to come loose will not do. The best choice is a cushion that is attached to the top of the bench and cannot be removed. Cushions that are attached with ties are usually not a good choice for a vanity bench. Also remember to look for cushions made of a material that is easy to wipe off and clean.
Along with how easy it can be placed into a bedroom, they are also fairly affordable. This is due to it being highly available from antique stores and secondhand yard sales. Purchasing a vintage vanity bench not only gives and individual a unique piece, it also gives them a great deal.
